Over the years Steve Aoki has flourished as an artist. With sold-out shows, touring worldwide Steve Aoki is considered an OG DJ and producer in the Electronic Music Scene. In 2012, from his shows alone, he had headlined more than 55 cities in a total of 60 dates throughout the United States and Canada. He has since then been acclaimed as the highest-grossing artist in North America. From graduating high school in Newport Beach, California in 1995 to establishing his own record label a year later; Steve Aoki has done nothing but prospers from his gratifying style of music.
Steve Aoki’s debut mix, Pillowface, and His Airplane Chronicles was released in January of 2008. He has since then featured on different radio shows such as BBC Radio 1. Aoki successfully moved on to collaborate with artists such as Lil Jon, Will. I. Am, Afrojack, as well as LMFAO and Iggy Azalea gaining international recognition. His infectious melodies blend well with these mainstream artists' style and sound, attracting fans nationwide.
Steve Aoki can be granted some street credibility for the prospering growth of electronic/dance music within the mainstream music scene. His rhythm and style inspired a refreshing, modern perspective for artists you hear every day on the radio. December 5th of 2009 Steve Aoki released the remix of Kid Cudi’s Pursuit of Happiness. Kid Cudi was then nominated in 2012 for Best Music on the MTV Movie Awards for the track featured in the movie, Project X.
In 2012 Steve Aoki ranked #15 on the Top 100 DJ’s chart featured in DJ Magazine. Since then, his album, Wonderland, went on to be nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2013. Aoki then finished in 6th place for America’s Best DJ Competition put on by DJ Times Magazine. When Big Room House meets Techno/Electro, Steve Aoki has bared all kinds of dance genres. Aoki has worked with respected DJs and producers nationwide such as NERVO, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armand Van Helden, of Duck Sauce, as well as Laidback Luke. He has headlined at some of the biggest festivals on the planet including Electric Daisy Carnival, Global Dance Festival, and Tomorrowland.
If Steve Aoki isn’t representing his own independent label, he's featured on other record labels including Ultra Music and Spinnin’ Records. Steve was just 19 years old when he founded his own record label. His label, Dim Mak Records now represents dozens of different artists today. Dim Mak started with artists like Infected Mushroom and Felix Cartal. Now feature DJ’s including Keys N’ Krates, Clockwork, and Deorro. Dim Mak has worked with Borgore, The Chainsmokers, as well as Datsik and many more.
As an electro-house producer, Steve Aoki started averaging out 250 shows a year in 2010. Famous for his shows and production worldwide whether it’s throwing cake in fans’ faces or popping champagne bottles into a crowd, Steve Aoki continues to put on exhilarating performances. His energetic, upbeat sets will always leave fans shocked and satisfied.
