After an unforgettable string of performances over Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends; Ragebeards was born. Two friends mixing their favorite beats together for friends and family in which eventually turned into a full-blown club invasion of performances within venues throughout the Twin Cities.
The dynamic duo, Ragebeards, is none other than Chris Blackburn and Sam Shacter. While they both have two unique styles they prefer to spin, when they hit the decks together they're chemistry is undeniable. Since their celebratory beginnings, Ragebeards has acquired a couple of years experience, collectively touring clubs with multiple festival circuits. All the way from trance, electro, and trap you can expect nothing less than the unexpected from this bearded, beat-bumping duo.
What piqued your interest in LOCAL MOTIV3S when determining if you wanted to perform this gig?
Playing alongside some amazing talent at such an iconic venue.
What personally drives you as a performing artist in our Minneapolis music scene?
Definitely the people! It's always exciting to have friends come out to support us and love hearing a fresh new sound with each set.
While establishing your creative career in the music industry, what is one valuable lesson you’ve taken away that you can share for others aspiring a career in the industry?
Stay connected to the people who support you! Without your fans you have nothing.
What would you say our current nightlife scene is in need of most right now?
What our scene desperately needs right now is to break away from the stigma that it's only possible to enjoy shows if you are drinking, or doing drugs. Vibing to the music with your friends is the most enjoyable aspect of shows, and the reason we continue to go out regularly.
Can you give us any insight on what to expect from your performance on Monday Night? Are there any tracks, artists, and/or genres/sub-genres of EDM you’re looking forward to mixing that you can share with us?
Expect the unexpected. This has been the motto of the Ragebeards from the very beginning. What that means exactly varies greatly between every show we play, but we will always look to keep the dance floor jumping and moving. For this show, we may look to bring it back to our roots, playing through multiple sub-genres of house music as we play for our first time in this iconic, local venue.
