Twin Cities native, John McCarten, nationally known under the moniker, Manic Focus, has been continuously releasing music, successfully leaving him with six versatile albums to date. Manic Focus’ latest studio album, Lost in a Digital World, only certifies how his shifting style of sounds produced, distinguishes himself as the thriving artist he has creatively evolved to be today.
This fall, Manic Focus embarked on his Lost in the Digital World Tour, debuting tracks from the self-titled album live, from coast to coast. Driven by funk, hip-hop, and bass, Manic Focus blends together elements of house music, soul, dubstep, trap, and down-tempo beats that make up this cohesive masterpiece in vivid illustration.
Manic Focus is prominently perceived for what energy his music illuminates throughout each set he performs, showcasing live collaborations while sharing the stage with artists such as GRiZ, Russ Liquid and Matt Hill of The Floozies. McCarten’s latest addition to his live performances in which highlight his latest installment involves creatives including drummer, Jacob Barinholtz, who has been performing live alongside Manic Focus since 2018. Having collectively performed together at festivals this year including Lollapalooza, Camp Bisco, and Summer Camp Music Festival, Jacob Barinholtz is expected to perform throughout every date of the Lost in a Digital World Tour, including Manic Focus’ show at First Avenue in the Mainroom this November, his day-one supporters continue to eagerly anticipate his homecoming.
